This work evaluated the efficacy of a multi-growth factor serum for increasing the length, shine, thickness, and volume of eyelashes. The main active ingredients of the serum include growth factors, Salvia officinalis oil, myristoyl pentapeptide-17, and myristoyl hexapeptide-16. These peptides work by stimulating the production of keratin, a key structural protein of hair. Overall, the results of the study showed that the multi-growth factor serum was well tolerated and effectively improved the length, shine, thickness, and volume of eyelashes in a patient sample.
Evaluation methods and results
· This study was a 90-day, open-label, single-center investigation focusing on safety and efficacy. It included 30 female participants, aged between 15 and 45 years, of which 29 completed the trial. There were four assessment visits: at the start (Day 0) and on Days 30, 60, and 90. Participants were guided to apply the test product uniformly on the upper and lower eyelid margins of both eyes every night for 90 days.
· Improvements in eyelash length, density/volume, luster, and curl were assessed through imaging and software technologies. Notable enhancements in the measured parameters were observed 30 days after starting the product. Among the 29 participants who completed the study, increases were recorded in length (10.52%), volume (9.3%), luster (11.43%), thickness (35%), and curl (50.83%) when compared to baseline measurements.
