To evaluate the safety and biological effects of starch-based vehicles (St-BV), two new St-BV were developed, including emulsions stabilized by starch particles (octenyl succinic anhydride starch) and nanocapsules made of pregelatinized modified corn starch. Preparation of starch-based vehicles (St-BV)
· An emulsion stabilized by ASt starch granules (starch aluminum octenylsuccinate) was created by dispersing the ASt particles in the oil phase using a vortex mixer before combining the oil and aqueous phases with a homogenizer. The aqueous phase was purified water, while the continuous phase was either CT or LP.
· Starch nanocapsules (StNC) were prepared using an emulsion-solvent evaporation method with capric/caprylic triglycerides (CT), Tween80, cetrimide, modified corn starch, and ethanol. The process involved dissolving capric/caprylic triglycerides in an ethanol solution with cationic surfactant, then adding it to the aqueous phase containing Tween80 and the hydrated polymer, all under constant magnetic stirring. The resulting nanoparticle dispersion was stirred at 25 ± 2 °C.
